Ogham, The Stones Stories

exploring how the Ogham Stones came into existence ... next session Sunday 25th September 2022

Ogham is very popular subject on 'Nature Folklore'. With this session, I explore the ancient, and not so ancient, Ogham stones. These being the stones carved with Ogham 'alphabet' symbols.

I explore how this language may have evolved, and how much it may be connected to a Tree Language, or other sensory experienced oral languages.

How did Ogham evolve to being carved on stones? What have been the changes of purpose and meaning of the Ogham carvings on stones over the centuries?

From divination to information amenities, to boundary settings, that were sometimes done for tax assessment purposes, I think you will find this session about the mystery of Ogham Stones very interesting. And please join in with your interpretations too.

Please volunteer to be a guest to include your story or poem related to Ogham stones. As a guest you can be live, or send me a pre-recorded video clip, or audio with photographs, or send me some photos and chat about them live with me next Sunday. Please message me to let me know what you can offer, thank you.

Looking forward to you joining us on Sunday.
