Ogham, The Stones Stories

Exploring how the Ogham Stones came into existence

Ogham is very popular at Sunday Sessions. With this session, I explore the ancient, and not so ancient, Ogham, stones. These being the stones carved with Ogham alphabet symbols. I explore how a Tree Language evolved into being carved onto stones, including possible origins, and changes of purpose and meaning over the centuries. From divination to information amenities, to boundary setting, I think you will find this session about the mystery of Ogham Stones very interesting. And please join in with your interpretations too.

This is part two of a two part Nature Folklore session exploring the folklore and mythologies of Crom Cruach and Crom Dubh. It is a challenge to separate the two as similar tales are told of both legends. But it does seem that the Crom Dubh mythology arrived later than the reverence for Crom Cruach as a god. The tales of Crom Cruach and Crom Dubh are very intertwined these days.
