Two types of retreats at Carrowcrory

Affordable €70 a day food and accommodation Journal Retreat
FREE food and accommodation Working Retreat

You can mix and match both choices
Minimum 3 days together between 1st March and 31st October
to include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights
Sunday nights if you include Bards In The Woods
but not Friday and Saturday nights.
Maximum is 10 days, and if you do that, then it can include a Friday and Saturday.

With the Journal Retreat

€70 per day per person covers
evening meal,
accommodation either shared en suite or single shared bathroom
full breakfast
picnic style lunch
wi-fi access, currently rural speeds, 12 mbps download, 5 mbps upload

also guiding, tuition, and transport packages, add €70 per person per day
which can also include some podcasting and videocasting services too,

With the Working Retreat

FREE per day per person covers
evening meal,
accommodation either shared en suite or single shared bathroom
full breakfast
picnic style lunch
wi-fi access, currently rural speeds, 12 mbps download, 5 mbps upload

7 hours work at Carrowcrory, includes hour lunch break

- maintenance of Tree Labyrinth
- extension of Orchard area
- wild rose garden reclaiming
- paths creation
- raised bed veggie garden maintenance
- mulch making
- compost making

on serious rainy days ...
- cottage cleaning and maintenance chores
- laundry
- food preparation and storage
- herbal preparations and storage
- data entering and other digital tasks
- help with events promotions

Maximum 8 people at any one time

Must book at least a month in advance of arrival !!!
Some last minute bookings still possible for May and June, but please give a week's notice.

Next Nature Folklore Sessions Live - Sunday 15th August, at 2pm Irish Time Watch here Live! ... or watch the archive later (click pic to set reminder) Crom Cruach LegendsCrom Dubh Legends the lesser known mythology of harvests gathered This, and the previous 'Nature Folklore' sessions, last Sunday, featuring Croms Cruach and Dubh, are perhaps the most niche of all that I present. This is part two of a two part Nature Folklore session exploring the folklore and mythologies of Crom Cruach and Crom Dubh. It is a challenge to separate the two as similar tales are told of both legends. But it does seem that the Crom Dubh mythology arrived later than the reverence for Crom Cruach as a god. The tales of Crom Cruach and Crom Dubh are very intertwined these days. Though nobody really knows the origins and details of either I am going to approach this as Crom Cruach being symbolic as a bringer of harvests, and Crom Dubh as a metaphor mythology of what happens
